Background Okonkwo has been a long term fixture at the club, joining the academy at Hale End when he was just eight years old and progressing through the ranks ever since. He was just 17 when he made his U23 debut and was part of the side that won the U18 league title in 2018/19. Despite only turning 20 last September, he made seven appearances for the U23 team in the Premier League 2 last season, and has also featured for the U21 side in the past.
