Five Leicester City players that Arsenal should try to sign

Image
By Oli Dickson Jefford After two strong campaigns in a row, Leicester City have largely struggled at times this season. Brendan Rodgers’ side sit 12th in the table and the prospect of European football looks unlikely, with a 12-point gap between them and the likes of Tottenham and West Ham. With next season looking like it will be a quiet one, several of the Foxes’ star players may look for pastures new when the summer transfer window opens. Arsenal have been linked to several Leicester players in the past, and could well be again this summer if some of their players are keen to leave. Here are our picks for five Leicester players Arsenal should try to sign this summer. Youri Tielemans Tielemans has been a little off the boil this campaign, but was one of Leicester’s standout performers last season and was their FA Cup final hero with the sole goal in the win against Chelsea at Wembley. Emile Smith Rowe v James Maddison - comparing the two No.10s  By Jack Lacey-Hatton It could be argued Arsenal’s best piece of business so far this summer is not a new signing. Rather, the new contract securing the future of prodigious talent Emile Smith Rowe may, with time, look like a very shrewd move from club management. But Arsenal are also still strongly linked with another English old fashioned ‘number 10’ – James Maddison. The Leicester City playmaker could still arrive at the Emirates before the transfer window slams shut in a few weeks. So how do the two players compare and, crucially, would they be able to play together?   Goals and assists Since breaking into the Premier League back in 2018...

Would Arsenal selling Reiss Nelson be a mistake? By Jack Lacey-Hatton A talented, if somewhat mercurial winger, Reiss Nelson has dazzled in an Arsenal shirt at times in the last four years since making his first team debut. Yet last season proved a stumbling block. Nelson didn’t feature anywhere near as much as he would have hoped, making nine appearances for the first team. For a player who has already shown he can play in Europe’s top leagues, thanks to a successful loan spell at 1889  Hoffenheim, this cannot be allowed to happen again. Consequently, speculation is now growing that Nelson c ould leave the Emirates this summer, with a host of clubs queuing up to make him an offer. So would selling the 21-year old be a mistake for the club?   Yes He may not have featured much in the first team last season but Nelson is still one of the most creative forces on the Arsenal books. When he has been in team first team at various points over the last few seasons, he has shown...
