Player profile: Lautaro Martínez By Oli Dickson Jefford Despite a recent run of promising form, there is no doubt that one of Arsenal’s main issues is the lack of a striker. The controversial exit of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has left a hole up front which, in the long term, Eddie Nketiah is unlikely to fill. Dusan Vlahovic was a target for the Gunners in January but with the Serbian choosing to stay in Serie A and move to Juventus from Fiorentina, the club have had to look elsewhere.  And they haven’t had to look too far away from Vlahovic, with fellow Serie A star Lautaro Martinez now reported to be one of the club’s key targets. Here is all you need to know about the Inter Milan ace ahead of a potential move to North London this summer.  Career Background Martinez was born in the Argentinian city of Bahia Blanca in 1997, and followed his father’s footsteps to become a professional footballer.  He started his junior career at Liniers before moving to Racing Club in 2014...

Houssem Aouar, 23, playing for Lyon Who are Arsenal likely to sign on transfer deadline day? Arsenal are in desperate need of new blood after a disastrous start to the season. The Gunners currently sit 20th in the Premier League, having not won a game despite spending £132 million on players this summer. With doubts circulating over Mikel Arteta’s long-term future at the club and  several  players being criticised for their performances in multiple matches, there is little doubt that  major  investment is needed if Arsenal want to  challenge  for European places this year. And, there has already been some investment this summer. The signings of Ben White, Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga earlier in the summer were all largely encouraging for fans. However, yesterday’s confirmation that Martin Odegaard had signed on a permanent deal for the Gunners was perhaps the most exciting transfer of the summer so far. Odegaard starred when on loan from Real Madrid last season and if he contin...
